Not sure if this is for you? I've got a story for you...

For as long as I can remember my inner critic was the overriding voice in my head. I really cannot remember a time when it wasn't there. 

Over the years it built up quite a repertoire and would often team up with impostor syndrome to really drive things home. It would say things like:

  • You're a failure
  • You don't deserve to succeed
  • You will let everyone down
  • What makes you think you can do that?
  • Everyone will laugh at you
  • You will get found out
  • Eveyone knows that you cannot do this  

Over the years I developed a variety of strategies to deal with them. This usually involved a battle going on in my head. It took so much energy and all that seemed to happen was the thoughts got stronger and louder. My default was to 'put on a brave face' and pretend everything was ok.

Unfortunately this wasn't an effective long term strategy. It culminated in an extremely serious and crippling episode of clinical depression. This took a lot of work and time to overcome and it was during this period that I discovered Mindfulness. This was the beginning of a change in how I viewed my inner critic.

Mindfulness enabled me to have a huge breakthrough in my recovery from depression and I was able to deal with my inner critic in a much different way. That was until I left work (after 26 years) and embarked on setting up my coaching and development business. BOOOOM!! My inner-critic was back with avengence!

By this time as well as being a qualified professional coach, I was also qualified as a Master Practitioner of NLP and as a Clinical Hypnotherapist. This is when I began to harness all of my experience to develop a programme for myself to turn my inner critic into my inner cheerleader.

It had incredible results so I developed it further so that I could share it with clients and I was able to support many wonderful people in developing their Inner Cheerleader. It takes work and it takes commitment. Everything worthwhile does. The feedback from clients has been amazing and I love to see the change take place in them. 

This is just one element of the programme I offer to turn your dreams into reality, yet it is a key element. Some clients are ready to tackle this element immediately, others need more support before they can embark on this stage successfully.
